Super Eagles legends Austin Jay Jay Okocha and John Mikel Obi have been chosen as role models by one of Chelsea's youngsters.
Okocha and Mikel Obi had stellar years for the Nigerian national team during their heydays but didn't feature together for long.
Okocha was already edging toward retirement for the Super Eagles before Mikel Obi joined the team fully.
Despite not playing together for long in the national team, Chelsea summer signing Lesley Ugochukwu has picked both players as his role models, according to a report by Complete Sports as per Chelseafc.com.
"Most of the time, when I saw him [Mikel Obi] on television, was the period with Jose Mourinho. It was a great period. He was such an important player for Chelsea," he said.
"And when you come from Nigeria, the names of Jay Jay Okocha and Mikel Obi always come out."
The former Rennes star also spoke about the different areas he was inspired by Mikel Obi as a midfielder.
"As a midfielder, what Mikel did for Chelsea inspired me a lot. He was calm. He had composure. He had self-confidence. That’s very important for a midfielder, to give confidence to your team," he added.
"He was strong without the ball, aggressive. That’s the kind of player I like. I want to have great achievements like he did."
