Ronaldo vs Messi: Stats show player who clocked 300 career goals faster
- Kylian Mbappe recently hit the 300 career goal landmark thanks to his goals vs Gilbatar
- The Frenchman has beaten Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to achieve that feat
- Both Messi and Ronaldo had considerably lower goal tallies at 24 years
Kylian Mbappe etched his name in the history books thanks to his treble for France against Gilbatar on Saturday, November 18.
Les Blues secured an emphatic 14-0 win over their lacklustre opponents, with some focus shifting to Mbappe’s exploits on the day.
The Frenchman, who was third in the 2023 Ballon d’Or rankings behind winner Lionel Messi and runner-up Erling Haaland, has been one of the most consistent goalscorers in recent history and has the numbers to back him.
It is business as usual this season for Mbappe, who has 15 goals in 15 appearances.
How does Mbappe compare to CR7 and Messi?
Having exploded onto the scene a little over six years ago, it is safe to say Mbappe has peaked much earlier than his veteran counterparts Ronaldo and Messi.
Aged just 24, Mbappe already has 300 career goals, which is way more than both Ronaldo and Messi had when they were the same age.
According to MessivsRonaldo.com, Ronaldo did not clock 300 career goals until he was 27, when he was arguably enjoying his peak years at Real Madrid.
Messi, meanwhile, performed much better, but not to the level of Mbappe at 24. The Argentine had 279 goals to his name by the time he was turning 25 years.
Neymar, another player considered to be a modern legend, also needed more time to reach the 300-goal landmark , although he also impressively earned it by age 25.

Can Haaland match up?
The only player who can possibly match and perhaps surpass Mbappe’s latest achievement is Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian is a goal-machine, and at the age of 23, has 231 goals to his name. He has a little under two years to rack his tally up to catch up to Mbappe.
France, who have already earned qualification for the Euro 2024, face Greece in their next game on Tuesday, November 21.
Mbappe’s road to 300 goals

Mbappe has scored a total of 254 goals while playing for Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain.
He started his Ligue 1 career with Monaco in 2015, playing with the French club for two seasons.
