Nation reports that the 58-year old was moved to Kakamega Level five from Armadiyan Muslim Hospital in Mumias Tuesday, August 24.

Further reports indicate Watsiera is ailing from edema-related complications associated with kidney disease

Edema, which is the swelling caused by fluid trapped in the body’s tissues, happens mostly on the feet, ankle and legs.

Doctors in Mumias say Watsiera is in dire need of specialized treatment to help control the swelling before it spreads to other areas.

In his prime, Watsiera was a respected figure among the Harambee Stars squad as he was part of the team that won the East and Central Senior Challenge Cup in 1983 and 1984.

At club level, he captained Tusker FC to the Cecafa Club Championship triumph in 1989.

He was popularly referred to as “Ronnie Wazimu” because of his no-nonsense and hard-hitting tackles and played mostly as what is modernly referred to as a utility player.

Patrick Shilasi, Dennis Munyendo, Mike Amwayi, Peter Ouma andDan Musuku are some of the names he played alongside in his career.
