Khama Billiat and 4 Free Agents in South Africa After PSL Transfer Window Closes
- Khama Billiat has been linked with numerous clubs since he departed Kaizer Chiefs
- Luke Fleurs went from winning the Young Player of the Season award to a free agent
- Eric Matoho spent 11 seasons at Kaizer Chiefs but is yet to ink a deal with a new club
The South African transfer window has officially closed, but there are still talented players who have not been snapped up by a side.
With the window officially closing on September 22, these players are free agents and can be signed by any club.
Sports Brief looks at five players currently available as free agents.
The biggest name on this list has not been seen since his contract with Kaizer Chiefs expired. The Zimbabwean star has not been seen or heard of, and his social media presence remains non-existent.
As noted by The South African, he was rumoured to have signed with Egyptian side Zamalek but Billiat has not been spotted at the club’s training sessions and neither have they announced his signing.
Bradley 'Surprise' Ralani
Talk about a big surprise - Ralani was a part of Mamelodi Sundowns’ success in the past two seasons but currently finds himself without a club after exiting in June.
As noted by SABC Sport, the club did not trigger the option to extend his contract and he left last season along with Andile Jali, Haashim Domingo, and Gift Motupa.
A talented defender, Fleurs was destined for greatness at one stage but finds himself without a club.
The former SuperSport United star was voted the DStv Premiership Young Player of the Season for the 2021/22 season.
Fleurs then started training with Kaizer Chiefs, which amused Matsatsanta coach, Gavin Hunt.

The Tower made 259 appearances for Chiefs before eventually parting ways with the club.
Matoho spent 11 seasons with the Soweto giants and at 33, he could still offer handy experience to another side. He was recently linked with a move to SuperSport United, but Gavin Hunt rejected that idea.
iDiski Times noted the coach believed that he had enough cover with the defenders he had and didn’t need to go in for the free agent.
A veteran of South African football, Makola became a free agent after being released by Polokwane City, despite helping them earn promotion to the DStv Premiership.
Makola is currently 37 years old and could remain without a club.
Billiat goes viral on social media
Where is Khama Billiat? As more time passes without news from the player, the more the former Kaizer Chiefs star trends on social media.
The Zimbabwean's name constantly pops up on social media as many club fanbases urge their sides to sign him, Sports Brief reported.
