Footage has emerged showing Cristiano Ronaldo meeting a young Iranian boy, and it was a wonderfully heartwarming moment.

Ronaldo and his Al-Nassr teammates were warmly welcomed in Iran on Monday, marking the first visit of a Saudi team to Iran since 2016.

This visit comes as the Asian Champions League group stage is set to commence. Al-Nassr will square off against the Iranian giants Persepolis in Group E on Tuesday.

A large crowd of football enthusiasts flooded into a hotel in Tehran, eager for a chance to catch a glimpse of the star player.

With chants of "Ronaldo, Ronaldo," the fans surged past police barriers, completely occupying the hallways and common areas of the Espians Palace Hotel, AP reports.

However, a young fan's dream of a one-on-one meeting with Ronaldo was dashed by the comprehensive security measures enforced at the team's hotel.

Ronaldo meets young fan

Ronaldo and Al-Nassr made arrangements for the young fan to return to the hotel, allowing him to spend some valuable time together with the Real Madrid legend.

In a video shared on social media, the young fan, who was wearing an Al-Nassr shirt with the number seven on the back, was ushered to Ronaldo's hotel room.

Ronaldo embraced the young boy and posed for a photo. The young fan then mimicked Ronaldo's iconic "Siu" celebration, causing Ronaldo to burst into laughter.

Ronaldo mania hits Iran

In a related publication, Sports Brief reported that Iran was swept up in Ronaldo fever as enthusiastic fans pursued Al-Nassr's team bus and thronged the club's hotel upon the superstar's arrival.

Huge crowds lined the streets and mobbed the bus, hoping to see the 38-year-old ahead of Tuesday's Asian Champions League tie with Persepolis.

This demonstrates that Ronaldo's popularity has expanded even further across Asia following his move to Saudi Arabia in January of this year.
