Former Nigerian international, Jay Jay Okocha delivered a breathtaking performance as Island Football Club of Lagos members celebrated the legend at 50 years old.

It’s a Golden Jubilee for the former Bolton Wanderers midfielder, who was born in Enugu on August 14, 1973.

Okocha was the star during an anniversary football game which was organised on his behalf at the Italian International School, Lekki.

It was gathered that the midfield maestro dazzled his friends who graced the occasion, thanking them for being part of his life since he quit international football due to lack of playing time, GOAL reports.

Featuring for both sides in each half, Jay Jay scored two goals and complemented the strikes with his magical touches, neat dribbles, and precise passes.

As soon as the game ended, the captain of Island Football Club, Olabiyi Emmanuel, stated that Okocha is a gift of God to Nigerians.

Timothy Nunu, who serves as the secretary general, added that the Island Football Club members are inspired by his humility and friendship anytime he is around them.

On his part, the oldest member of the Island Football Club, Austin Charles Asianya, also known as 'Papa', said that Okocha is a big inspiration to everyone and stressed the need for members and friends not to compromise their fitness on and off the pitch.

African legends in Lagos for Okocha

Sports Brief earlier reported that Okocha welcomed some of the finest footballers from the African continent as he celebrated his 50th birthday in Lagos, Nigeria.

The superstars turned up at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos; amongst them was Togolese legend Emmanuel Adebayor.

Other superstars spotted were Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan, Khalilou Fadiga of Ghana, Nigeria’s Peter Rufai, Ifeanyi Udeze, Daniel Amokachi, Emmanuel Emenike, Julius Aghahowa, Joseph Yobo, and a host of others.
