Eden Hazard: Injury Rules Out Real Madrid Winger For the Rest of 2020

Eden Hazard might have played his last game for Real Madrid in 2020 after he was ruled out for the remainder of the year.

The Belgian attacker lasted less than 30 minutes in Los Blancos' 2-1 disappointing defeat to Deportivo Alaves over the weekend.

He has however undergone ultrasound and MRI scans a day after their loss to determine the extent of the problem. And the result of the tests showed he suffered a small rupture in his right hamstring.

The Spanish League defending champions have now confirmed in a statement that the former Chelsea star will embark on another spell on the sidelines. Real said:

“Following tests carried out on Eden Hazard, he has been diagnosed with an injury in the rectus femoris muscle of his right leg.”

Although the club did not reveal how long their player would be gone for, SunSport quoting Spanish outlet AS believes he could be out for another four weeks.

This means the 29-year-old forward might miss up to eight games across competitions for the Galacticos.

And some of the crucial games include their La Liga meetings with rivals Atletico Madrid and Sevilla.

Hazard has already missed six games this campaign including their impressive 3-1 triumph over Barcelona last month.

He also missed one of his country's games after testing positive for coronavirus along with team-mate Casemiro.

Since his £130 million move to the Santiago Bernabeu from Chelsea in 2019, the forward has missed 39 games - featuring in only 26 matches for the club.

Meanwhile, this recent injury would be the ninth time he has been out of action owing to a series of injuries.

Hazard has not been able to replicate his form at Chelsea for the La Liga outfit after netting 110 times in 352 games during his seven-year reign at Stamford Bridge

Legit.ng earlier reported that Real Madrid woes were compounded after superstar Eden Hazard limped off in their 2-1 defeat to Deportivo Alaves at the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this weekend.

The Belgian only lasted 28 minutes after which he was replaced by Rodrygo but the extent of his setback has not been communicated to the media.

This will definitely upset Zinedine Zidane's plans as their Spanish League title defence is already shaky as they sit fourth on the table with six points behind current table-toppers Real Sociedad.
