  • Castrol, the official partner of the league, will parade the trophy in the capital of Nairobi
  • Former Nigeria international and Bolton star Jay Jay Okocha will headline the trophy tour

The English Premier League trophy is set to come to Kenya as part of a worldwide tour on September 1 and 2. The trophy will be paraded to enthusiasts for exclusive viewing.

Given that Manchester City are the reigning champions, the trophy will be draped with blue ribbons and will be accompanied by one of the greatest African footballers of all time - Jay Jay Okocha.

The presence of the trophy alongside the legendary Super Eagles star is set to spur interest amongst the league's fans in the country, given how popular the EPL is.

The trophy will be available for viewing at the Carnivore Grounds on September 2, from 9:00 to 16:00.

The initiative has been put together by Castrol - one of the Premier League's sponsors - in collaboration with RUBiS Energy Kenya.

Castrol Kenya's Country manager, Ed Savage, has promised fans a 'more than just viewing' experience and said having the trophy in Kenya was a significant moment for football lovers in the country.

"The event promises to be more than just a viewing; it is an immersion into football's rich tapestry, complete with interactive games, vibrant music, and the exclusive opportunity to witness the trophy up close," he said as quoted by Star Sports.

How EPL table looks currently

Sports Brief has also reported that match week three of the EPL produced some interesting results, with Man City, Man United, Chelsea, and Liverpool all securing thrilling wins.

As it stands, the defending champions are the only side yet to drop points after three outings, with City still maintaining their perfect start to their league title defence.

Their latest win came against Sheffield United, who they beat 2-1 on August 27. Erling Haaland scored in the 63rd minute before Jayden Bogle cancelled his goal later that half.
