  • La Liga will introduce new coverage ideas this coming season to improve what fans experience
  • Half-time interviews, dressing room footage, and microphones on players will all be introduced
  • These measures are aimed at improving the product and giving fans more insight on matchdays

In a bid to improve the matchday experience for viewers, La Liga are planning to introduce half-time interviews, dressing room cameras, and face-to-face chats with coaches.

The new ideas are aimed at giving fans more insight into the action, much like American sports like the NBA.

Most football leagues do not allow cameras in the dressing room, but clubs like Arsenal and Manchester City have allowed Amazon to film inside their changerooms.

The new measures also include microphones on players during warm-ups and in the dressing rooms, to capture the coaches and players talking.

Earlier this month, La Liga revealed the new measures will improve the audiovisual experience of the fans.

The league said this was in response to demands made by broadcast rights holders, who are aiming for an improved product to match the level of other elite sports leagues in the world.

La Liga clubs will earn more by implementing these new measures.

Other measures coming in the 2023/24 season include interviewing the coaching staff, pre-match footage from inside changing rooms, new camera angles in the dugouts, aerial cameras, and cinematic cameras in the tunnels, per COPE.

Neymar to return to Barcelona?

Meanwhile, on August 7, Neymar informed Paris Saint-Germain of his desire to leave the club this summer after six years in the French capital, per Sky Sports.

Back in May, he was confronted by numerous PSG ultras outside his home, a situation that has reportedly prompted him to make a choice on his future in Paris.

Barcelona is Neymar's possible destination, per Sports Brief. He would still have good memories of Camp Nou, where he was at his best and won plenty.

However, the Brazilian's reunion with the reigning La Liga champions may not happen because the Catalans are still going through a rough period financially.

Barcelona registered just 13 players

Meanwhile, Sports Brief reported on Barcelona registering only 13 players ahead of the new La Liga season, which kicks off this weekend.

New signings like Ilkay Gundogan, Oriol Romeu, Inigo Martinez, and players with new deals are yet to be registered with the Spanish league.
