  • The Brazilian legend has also made some drastic calls ahead of the new football season

Real Valladolid have recently grown to become a club closely watched by the media - not solely for their footballing activities - but because the club is owned by Brazil and Real Madrid legend, Ronaldo Nazario.

The Spanish club, which have found it difficult to maintain their top flight status, are again on a quest to secure promotion to the first division after suffering relegation from La Liga on the final day of the 2022/23 football season.

Faced with the headache of keeping its top players, who have become targets for bigger Spanish clubs, Real Valladolid faces even more attention after a shocking decision by its owner.

To both amusement and outrage, Ronaldo has decided to let key members of his backroom team go.

Ronaldo sacks entire transfer team

As per a reports by Diario AS, Ronaldo has sacked Valladolid's Sporting Director, Fran Sanchez, just 11 days ahead of the start of the new Segunda season.

In addition to this, the Brazilian star also shown the door to Sanchez’s assistants - Luis Casas, Antonio Barea, and Jose Manuel Hernandez. They would all have been out of contract in 2024.

Football Espana reports that the news of the transfer team's sacking was communicated to them by Ronaldo’s right-hand man and Strategic Director of the Sporting Department, Paulo Andre.

Amid the sacking spree, many have also remarked on the notable absence of manager, Paulo Pezzolano, who was appointed just seven games before the end of the season last time out.

Instead, Valladolid's training sessions have been handled by assistant manager, Martin Varini.

It remains unclear where the immediate future of Pezzolano lies but with a cloud of uncertainty hanging over the club thanks to Ronaldo, it could be a troubled time for Valladolid's promotion aspirations.

Real Valladolid sacks manager Rojo

Sports Brief previously reported on Valladolid firing coach Jose 'Pacheta' Rojo after suffering a 6-0 defeat away at Real Madrid, worsening their relegation woes.

The Spanish club, owned by Brazil legend, Ronaldo Nazario, posted a statement on their website confirming the manager who led them to promotion was out.
