  • Marcus Rashford enjoyed a brilliant season with Manchester United and scored 30 goals
  • He also helped the club break their six-year trophy drought by winning the Carabao Cup
  • Rashford is gearing up for a new season and named three men he would like to dine with

Marcus Rashford is proving himself a great young man who rightly wants to be in the midst of great men, with his recent revelation of three men across history he would like to have dinner with.

Rashford is a Manchester United academy graduate and has been a mainstay of the first team for years now, stepping up in crucial moments for the team last season and scoring 30 goals in all competitions.

His goals helped return the club to the UEFA Champions League next term and also helped them win the Carabao Cup with a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United in the final, before losing in the FA Cup final to Manchester City.

Asides from football, Rashford is a social activist and his intervention brought about a reversal of policy from the United Kingdom government on free school meals during the coronavirus pandemic, as reported by Al Jazeera.

He has also championed the donation to food banks for school children through the intervention, which earned him an MBE award from the 2021 awardees list.

Rashford names historic dinner mates

Speaking on Gary Neville's Overlap Podcast, Rashford named three men from history he would love to have dinner with, one of whom he had the privilege of talking to in 2020.

"Denzel Washington, Barack Obama and Muhammad Ali," he said.

Rashford had the privilege of video chatting with Obama, where the former United States leader praised him for being ahead of where he was at 23.

He could still meet Washington, but unfortunately, Ali passed on in 2016.

Rashford hangs out with rivals

Sports Brief previously reported on Rashford hanging out with Man City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, and Liverpool defender, Virgil van Dijk as rivalries were seemingly set aside.

This infuriated some sections of the United fanbase as City had just won the treble, beating the Red Devils in the FA Cup, while Liverpool have a bitter Northwest rivalry with them.
