The captain of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Ahmed Musa, has disclosed that the team will not take their game against Sierra Leone for granted.
Jose Peseiro’s men need a win against the Leone Stars to guarantee their place in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast beginning next January.
The fixture is slated for the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Monrovia on Sunday evening, June 18.
Sierra Leone will host Nigeria at a neutral venue after none of the stadiums in the country has CAF approval for an international match.

FootballAnd Ahmed Musa has disclosed that there would not be a difference even if the game is played on neutral ground.
Musa said, as per Punch:
“Nowadays, there is no home or away (advantage) in football; you just have to put in extra work if you want to win the game.
“Any country that wants to play the Super Eagles, they come all out to want to win us, so we know it is not going to be easy. That’s football. No matter where you play, you have to do your best to win the game.
“No matter how many goals we score, you all would say it is normal, you can beat Sierra Leone, but when we lose, it is something else, so we have to put that in our mind that this game is not easy because we know if we win that game, we will qualify for AFCON so we do not have to take it for granted.”
