Following their hard-fought 1-0 win over Sao Tome & Principe, Guinea Bissau are now top of the Group A standings in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
A lone strike from Zinho Gano in the 55th minute took the Wild Dogs to 10 points, one ahead of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, who have a date with Sierra Leone on Sunday.
Victory for Nigeria over the Leone Stars will return the Super Eagles to the top of the standings, with one more match to play.
Sierra Leone are third with five points from four matches as well, and they will hope to claim all three points when they clash with Jose Peseiro’s men.
However, Guinea Bissau will confirm a place in their fourth successive AFCON if Sierra Leone fail to beat Nigeria, Daily Post reports.
