Sections of Arsenal fans criticized defender, Oleksandr Zinchenko for congratulating his former club Manchester City on their Champions League triumph.
City beat Inter 1-0 on Saturday, June 10, to win a maiden Champions League title.
It was a game that could have gone either way as Inter were painfully unlucky not to have taken their chances on the day.
At full-time, it was Pep Guardiola and his wards who were all smiles, as the Spaniard became the first manager to win the European treble on two different occasions, according to the Manchester City website.

FootballZinchenko was clearly following the proceedings of his former team. He sent a congratulatory message on Instagram, posting a graphic of Manchester City along with the caption 'Champions of Europe', as reported on SportBible.
This did not go down well with sections of Arsenal fans, who felt that the Ukrainian disrespected the North Londoners with the post.
@Itsislom said:
“Pep just recently called Ake an "upgrade" to Zinchenko and he replied him with congratulation post on instagram what a class player.”
While @Goonerbymac claimed:
“Zinchenko publicly congratulating city is actually embarrassing. I get messaging your mates in private but to repost a Man City post on Instagram after bottling the league to them… unforgivable.”
@themacronical added:
“Posting about City winning the Champions League, after you left them the year before & bottled the league to City this year. Bro, read the room.”
However, rival fans came to Zinchenko’s defence. His post was termed 'classy' by an opposition fan.

"Oleksandr Zinchenko posted this on Instagram and now some Arsenal fans are cancelling him. Because, obviously, showing some sportsmanship at the end of the season and congratulating your friends on the team you represented for five years is a capital crime. Chill out, people"
While @smitAFC added:
“You are embarrassing if you think Zinchenko has done something bad, grow up, like he has a life and friends outside Arsenal duties, just because you care too much doesn’t mean he is not allowed to do what he wants, like fml it is an Instagram story, touch grass.”
@ShahedGooner then said:
“The passion and love Zinchenko has for Arsenal should not be forgotten because of one instagram post.”
Sports Brief also reported on Manchester United fullback Brandon Williams’ bizarre rant on social media after Manchester City won the treble.
Williams, who was born a year after United won the treble, took to his Instagram stories and posted, 'Nobody wants a sloppy seconds', alongside three red devil emojis.
His dig was a direct reference to United’s 1999 triumph, as the full-back suggested Sir Alex Ferguson’s feat was better.
