With Al-Ahli securing promotion back to the Saudi Pro League, the team’s management have revealed that they wanted to appoint a big-name coach and were linked with a move for Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri, Goal reported.

Al-Ahli after Mourinho

iDiski Times has now reported that the Saudi side are also in talks with current Roma boss, Jose Mourinho.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United manager led Roma to back-to-back European finals and is a proven trophy winner.

The Special One is contracted to the Italian side until June 2024 but has been linked with a move away. Most recently, he was linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, according to TalkSport.

Mosimane’s future at Al-Ahli

The South African coach’s future at the club remains uncertain, despite him stating he would be there next season. He previously revealed that his contract had a clause which activated a one-year extension if the side achieved promotion.

Pitso hasn't been paid

Pitso Mosimane is not having the best of times in Saudi Arabia.

The South African tactician has enjoyed success at the club in the league, but things haven’t been the easiest off the field, Sports Brief reported.

Pitso's job is not guaranteed for next season as the club looks to replace him, and Jingles also recently revealed that he and his team had yet to be paid a salary since January.

Possible destinations for Pitso Mosimane

Where could Pitso Mosimane find himself next?

Despite leading Al-Ahli Saudi to the Yelo League title, the South African could be out of a job at the end of the season.

Sports Brief looks at four teams that Jingles could coach next.
