FIFA found Royal AM guilty of unfairly dismissing former attacker, Samir Nurkovic. The Thwihli Thwahla signed the former Kaizer Chiefs striker on a free transfer, but he never made his professional debut for the side.

As noted by IOL, his contract was terminated by the side before he officially played a game for them. The Serbian striker was nursing an injury and was let go by the side before he recovered.

Nurkovic appealed his dismissal, and FIFA have now ruled in his favour, Soccer Laduma noted.

Royal AM must pay Nurkovic

Nurkovic’s lawyer, Davor Lazic, explained that the side had to pay the full amount of his two-year contract and a further 10% interest.

He would not reveal what the amount of the fine is, but believes it could be a record figure.

Royal AM face transfer ban

If the payment is not made, the club face further consequences.

“If Samir does not receive his payment in the next 10 days, then the club shall be banned from registering any new players on a national or international level until the amount is paid,” Lazic explained.

Lazic then added that if Royal AM continued to avoid paying the fine, they could face a points deduction or relegation to a lower division.

Nurkovic trains with City

The Serbian striker has not been signed by another side since Mkhize’s side released him, but has been training with a DStv Premiership team.

iDiski Times reported that Nurkovic was spotted training with Cape Town City recently. Coach, Eric Tinkler is said to be impressed with the striker but is concerned about his injury record.

Royal AM sign Samir Nurkovic

Royal AM have started making bold moves on the transfer market.

Sports Brief reported that Khabo Zondo would become the club's new coach.

Shauwn Mkhize's side also signed former Kaizer Chiefs attacker, Samir Nurkovic on a free transfer.
