US Cremonese youngster, Felix Afena-Gyan has been excluded from the Black Meteors squad for the upcoming Africa U23 Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Meanwhile, Black Stars forwards, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer have been included in the team, as reported by the Ghana Football Association website.

The United States-based duo of Kwadwo Opoku 'Mahala' and Salim Adams have also been named for U23 AFCON.

The Black Meteors have already started preparations ahead of the tournament and are currently training at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

The team will travel to Egypt on Monday to continue preparations before leaving for Morocco for the tournament, which begins on June 24, as reported by myjoyonline.

Ernest Nuamah, Konigsdorffer, and Sulemana will join the team in north Africa after the game between Ghana and Madagascar in the senior AFCON qualifiers.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group A alongside host Morocco, Guinea, and Gabon.

Afena-Gyan's uncle demands explanation

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on the star's uncle, Abrefa Gyan demanding the GFA explain Felix's snubbing from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Afena-Gyan led the Black Stars' attack in the play-off against Nigeria in March last year yet was dropped for the tournament in the Middle East.

Afena-Gyan turns down Ghana invite

Sports Brief also reported on Ghana U23 coach, Tanko saying he is not aware why Afena-Gyan missed his Ghana call-up for the game against Algeria.

According to the former Ghanaian international, he spoke with the player's representatives about including the striker in his squad for the qualifiers.

However, the US Cremonese forward's agent reportedly claimed Afena-Gyan was not ready for the double-header and he missed out on the match.
