According to Marca, Bellingham has already said goodbye to his Dortmund teammates and even recorded an interview for the club to thank them.

Madrid hopes that everything will be finalised in the next few days to announce the transfer and present the player at the Bernabéu.

The talented midfielder is expected to be the first to arrive at Madrid, but he will not be the last as there will be more signings this summer as part of the club’s transfer strategy.

Los Blancos are working to close the deal with the peace of mind of knowing that the player has decided to play at the Bernabéu, with Liverpool and Manchester City having withdrawn from the race to sign the former Birmingham City man.

Madrid decides on Bellingham jersey number

According to the Spanish publication El Mundo, Bellingham, 19, might wear the number 7 at Madrid if he signs with the La Liga giants this summer.

The English teenager is Los Blancos’ main priority in the transfer market and is likely to sign with Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

Should Jude Bellingham receive the number seven, he will continue the legacy of some of Real Madrid’s greatest players.

Some of the greats to don the jersey include Raul Gonzalez and the five-time Balon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, who achieved record-breaking feats while adorning the renowned jersey number.

During his tenure at the Bernabeu, he scored 450 goals in 438 games while earning four Champions League medals. The legendary Portuguese player has won four Balon d’Or at the Bernabeu and is the club’s all-time leading scorer.

Bellingham crowned Bundesliga best player

Earlier Sports Brief reported that Jude Bellingham has been voted as the 2022/23 Bundesliga Player of the Season.

The 19-year-old has blown the German league away this year, proving himself to be one of the most complete footballers in the world.
