Lamptey, through his foundation, Tariq Lamptey Foundation, has been making generous donations to underprivileged children in the nation of his parents, and this year has not been any different.

In late May, the 22-year-old made generous donations to Freedom Methodist School and Wesley Methodist School in Asamankese, located in the West Akim Municipal District of Ghana's Eastern Region, MyJoyOnline reports.

According to Citi Sports, the donation included footballs, boots, and Brighton’s home and away kits. Now, he has expanded his generosity to the community of Abelemkpe, which is a suburb located in the Greater Accra region.

Tariq donated sets of jerseys and other equipment like footballs and cleats, among others, while topping up with 1000 exercise books to Abelemkpe 2 Community Basic School.

He is currently recuperating from an injury sustained in the course of the just-ended season, forcing him to miss out on Ghana's squad for the 2024 AFCON Qualifiers against Madagascar later this month.

Lamptey gives back to society

In a related publication, Sports Brief reported on Tariq Lamptey having an event-filled and gratifying vacation in Ghana.

Lamptey, presently in the West African nation, donated generously to Freedom Methodist School and Wesley Methodist School in Asamankese as part of his annual activity.

The donation included footballs, boots, and Brighton’s home and away kits.

Why Tariq chose Ghana

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former England youth international Tariq Lamptey has revealed the moment he finally decided he had to switch nationalities.

Lamptey was born in England to Ghanaian parents and represented the European country at youth levels.

However, in June 2022, the 22-year-old decided to play for the country of his parents. He was eventually named in Ghana's squad for the World Cup in Qatar, having made his debut against Brazil in September 2022.
