  • Jesse Lingard briefly put aside his footballing woes to enjoy some time in Barbados
  • The forward was recently released by Nottingham Forest, who parted ways with several players upon expiry of their contracts
  • Question marks still linger on where the former Manchester United star will play next

Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard took some time off his footballing woes to enjoy the lush beaches of Barbados.

Lingard, who is currently without a club after seeing his £200,000-a-week contract with Nottingham Forest run out, shared snaps of himself in Barbados alongside a stunning lass identified as Yana Watts.

Despite uncertainty over his future, Lingard chose to unwind a little ahead of the summer, enjoying the Caribbean sun with Watts, who has been in Barbados for over a year if her Instagram activity is anything to go by.

The pair spent an afternoon riding jet skis and sipping drinks, with Lingard sharing the highlights on his Instagram.

Little is known about Lingard's female companion Yana Watts, as she only has slightly over 7000 followers on Instagram, which is set on private.

Lingard and some other friends also played some beach paddleball as they took a swim in the ocean.

Lingard at Nottingham

In the 2022/23 campaign, Lingard made 20 appearances for Nottingham Forest as the club managed a great escape from relegation thanks to some late season form.

However, according to Transfermkt, Lingard could only manage two goals and two assists for the side as he slowly slipped down the pecking order under Steve Cooper, whose side ended the season in 16th place.

He is not the only one to be released from the City ground as Nottingham also confirmed the departure of several other big names including Andre Ayew, Cafu, Jack Colback, Jordan Smith and Lyle Taylor.

Ivory Coast international Serge Aurier also had his deal expiring in June, but the club decided to extend his contract.

Icardi’s new machine

Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported on how Mauro Icardi reportedly got himself a new Rolls Royce dubbed the “most expensive car in the world”.

Despite his off-field drama, there is no denying Icardi’s talent as the Argentine has been crucial for Galatasaray this season on their way to winning the Turkish Super Lig.

Days before Icardi scored a brace to help his team secure the league, he shared an interesting photo of himself on Instagram inside what looked like a swanky vehicle.
