Nigerian Star Muhammad Dedicates His U20 World Cup Goal Against Argentina to President Tinubu, Video

Flying Eagles forward, Ibrahim Muhammad has dedicated his goal against Argentina at the ongoing FIFA Unde- 20 World Cup to the new President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Nigeria's U20 coach, Ladan Bosso and his charges put on an impressive display on May 31 in their round of 16 clash against Argentina, beating the hosts 2-0.

Before the encounter, the Argentines were expected to record a win over the west Africans after winning their opening three games of the competition.

Against all odds, the Flying Eagles won the tie and recorded their first win over a South American team at the U20 FIFA World Cup.

In a video that has since gone viral on Twitter, Muhammad expressed happiness at scoring Nigeria's first goal and lauded his country's head of state.

"It was a good game for us because we had the confidence before the game that we would win and we did it. We are all happy and we want to continue improving. As for my goal against Argentina, I dedicate it to our new President Tinubu."

The Flying Eagles will be in action on Sunday, June 4, for their quarter-final game against Ecuador or South Korea, according to the report by Daily Post.

Argentina coach speaks after loss

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on the coach of the Argentinian under-20 national team, Javier Mascherano lamenting two mistakes which cost his side against Nigeria.

The Flying Eagles knocked the hosts out of the U20 World Cup tournament this week, as their Round-of-16 encounter 2-0 in favour of the soaring west Africans.

After a goalless first half, Muhammad opened the scoring in the 61st minute from the area, with Rilwanu Sarki topping things off in stoppage time to make it 2-0.
