  • Leicester City, Leeds United, and Southampton will all play in the Championship next season
  • Leicester and Leeds dropped on the final day while Southampton lost it with four games to go
  • All three clubs have top flight quality players who could get immediate Premier League offers

Football is a cruel sport that sometimes has no respect for individual quality within a team; one which could dish out harsh realities to teams.

Three clubs were relegated from the Premier League this season - Southampton, Leeds United and past champions, Leicester City, the latter two of which were relegated on the final day.

All have players who are either too good to be playing in the second tier or are cheap enough for other top flight clubs to easily recruit into their ranks.

Sports Brief looks at three from each club who have already received offers or attracted interest from other clubs.

Leicester City

1. James Maddison

The most obvious choice here who certainly will not play Championship football next season - the attacking midfielder will not be short of suitors. The Telegraph reports that Tottenham, Newcastle, and Manchester United are interested and he will cost between £45 million and £60 mil.

2. Harvey Barnes

Barnes is another Foxes star who will leave the club. According to The Sun, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Newcastle are interested in the 25-year-old English winger, who was to go for £60 mil had the club avoided relegation.

3. Youri Tielemans

The Belgian’s contract is up by the end of June and he rejected multiple offers during the season. According to Sky Sports, AS Roma are reportedly leading the race for his signature.

Leeds United

1. Wilfred Gnoto

The teenager is not short of suitors due to his quick feet and vision. He has offers from top English clubs but 90min reports he could favour a move to Italy, where Juventus and Napoli are interested.

2. Illan Meslier

The 22-year-old French goalkeeper has a decision to make. According to RMC Sports, he had offers from Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Newcastle in January. Those offers are unlikely to be available, but he will likely move.

3. Jack Harrison

According to talkSPORT, Leeds are resigned to losing the 26-year-old winger. West Ham and Aston Villa are two clubs interested in immediately returning him to the top flight.

Southampton

1. Romeo Lavia

The most obvious choice to leave the Saints this summer, with top English clubs seeking the 20-year-old defensive midfielder. According to Planet Football, Southampton rejected Chelsea's £50 mil bid last summer.

2. James Ward-Prowse

The captain and free kick specialist has no relegation clause in his contract, but the club will surely not stand in his way if an offer arrives. Aston Villa, West Ham, and Tottenham are reportedly interested.

3. Armel Bella-Kotchap

The German defender was at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He is already attracting interest from England, Germany and Italy, including RB Leipzig and Liverpool.

Manchester United’s likeliest signings

The Red Devils will be in the hunt for a new goalkeeper, a striker, and midfielders this summer to bolster their squad for next season’s campaign when they play Champions League football.

Sports Brief previously reported that artificial intelligence algorithms listed 9 likeliest signings for Man Utd, including Harry Kane, Mason Mount and a relegated Leicester City player.
