  • Premier League clubs are on red alert over potential moves for high-ranking Leicester stars following the team's relegation
  • The Foxes are also expected to cash in on players in a bid to stay afloat financially, after reported losses of £92mil last year
  • James Maddison tops a list of senior squad members who could depart King Power Stadium this summer to rejoin the EPL

A number of high-ranking Leicester City stars are expected to return to the Premier League next season after the Foxes were relegated.

Leicester dropped to the Championship after they finished 18th in the standings with 34 points, just two away from safety.

According to the BBC, the King Power Stadium outfit lost a staggering 22 games of the 38 played during the 2022/23 campaign.

Despite having three different managers during the season and securing a 2-1 encouraging win on the final day against West Ham United, this was not enough to help the Foxes survive the axe.

Exodus looming at Leicester City

The Sun now reports that a mass exodus is looming at Leicester City, with the club keen to sell some of their top stars to stay afloat financially.

The publication claims that with income set to fall dramatically in the second tier, the former Premier League winners may have no choice but to sell their prized assets.

Many of those players are expected to return to the Premier League, with Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle among the top clubs on red alert.

Sports Brief takes a look at five Leicester City stars who could seal a dramatic Premier League return next season.

James Maddison

The Mirror reports that James Maddison headlines a list of Leicester players set to depart the club this summer.

Newcastle are understood to be keen on the England international, having made bids for the midfielder in January and last summer.

The Magpies are looking to reinforce their squad ahead of their return to the Champions League next season.

Youri Tielemans

The Belgian's contract at the King Power Stadium is set to expire this summer.

He is unlikely to pen a renewal, especially considering the Foxes have been relegated.

Tielemans will not be short of transfer options, with Arsenal understandably leading the race for his signature.

Harvey Barnes

Harvey Barnes is the other high-ranking member of the Leicester squad likely to exit the club.

Just like Maddison, the winger has also been linked with a move to Newcastle, with Tottenham and Aston Villa also reportedly keeping tabs on him.

Harvey has two years remaining on his contract, with the Foxes demanding £60 mil for the 25-year-old.

Wilfred Ndidi

While the Nigerian's form has significantly dipped in the last couple of months, he is sure to receive bids from Premier League clubs this summer.

Manchester United have been linked with Ndidi, while Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be interested in a transfer move.

Ricardo Pereira

The right-back has been in fine shape for Leicester this season despite the club's struggles.

Tottenham are among the Premier League clubs who have previously been linked with a move for the Portuguese.

Barcelona and PSG have also previously shown interest, while a return to Portugal has also been touted.

Leicester fans fight each other

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on dramatic scenes during Leicester City's EPL clash against West Ham United as home fans turned on each other.

The Foxes were keen to secure a positive result against the Hammers, hoping Everton would drop points against Bournemouth to help them survive.
