It’s not a good time to be a Kaizer Chiefs fan.

The Amakhosi are in the headlines after their bitter rivals, Orlando Pirates, lifted the Nedbank Cup trophy.

As noted by iDiskiTimes, the Buccaneers beat Sekhukhune United 2-1 in dramatic fashion to lift their second trophy of the season. Unfortunately, Chiefs are now being trolled online for failing to secure any silverware for another season.

The Amakhosi finished fifth in the DStv Premiership in Arthur Zwane’s first season in charge of the club.

As noted by Goal, the Amakhosi lost 12 games in the league and conceded more goals than they scored. Chiefs only netted 32 goals but conceded 33.

To make matters worse, some Chiefs fans were also spotted at the Nedbank Cup final, cheering on Sekhukhune. Their actions, and the club’s poor season, have now seen them trend on social media.

Here's what users had to say about the club:

@uNdu_Mk:

“Sekhukhune, Sundowns and Kaizer chiefs took 16 points from us, and we took R16.5m from them. You can't spend 16 points.”

@tumi_Phefo:

“The last time Kaizer Chiefs won a trophy, Jacob Zuma was still a president.”

@mshengulala:

“Of the traditional big three of South African football, one won the league for the 6th consecutive time and with a big margin. The other won 2 cups and finished second. And then there's you, @KaizerChiefs, finishing 5th with a negative goal difference.”

@LaDumezulu:

“Kaizer Chiefs must suffer for the next 10 years for all the pain they have caused me in my childhood as a Pirates fan.”

@lylikidsa:

“Kaizer Chiefs are destroying everything they touch now they destroyed Sekhukhune... they never win anything.”

Terrence Dzvukamanja grabs late winner

Terrence Dzvukamanja is Orlando Pirates’ hero.

Dzvukamanja scored a late goal to gift the Buccaneers the Nedbank Cup final in the last minute of the game.

Pirates and Sekhukhune United were level after 90 minutes, and with six minutes of time added on, it looked like the final would be headed to extra time, Sports Brief reported.
