He has scored 25 league goals and scored the goal that secured the title for Neapolitans in the 1-1 draw away at Udinese. He is on course to win the golden boot.

Osimhen receives national honour

According to Cable Lifestyle, as part of the activities leading up to the change of government in his home country, Osimhen has been bestowed with a national honour - Member of The Order of Federal Republic (MFR).

This was his recognition of his exemplary achievement in sports. Osimhen had previously won the FIFA U17 World Cup for Nigeria in 2017 - a tournament he was the golden boot winner with a record 10 goals in a junior World Cup.

Osimhen loses iconic face mask

Sports Brief reported that Victor Osimhen misplaced his face mask while on international duty with Nigeria for the games against Guinea Bissau.

The striker failed to find the back of the net in both games and when he returned to Naples, he found out he was without the iconic mask.

He started wearing the mask after a head injury in November 2021 that forced him to miss the 2022 African Cup of Nations.

Osimhen fumes at Spalletti

Sports Brief also reported that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen fumed at Spalletti after the manager substituted him in the 67th minute of the 3-1 victory over Inter Milan.

The manager appeared unfazed as the player was furious because he wanted to keep his golden boot aspirations intact - his closest competitor Lautaro Martinez was still on the pitch for Inter.
