Bayern Munich Star Alphonso Davies to Feature in the New Spiderman Movie

Alphonso Davies is switching roles from being a professional footballer to acting on the big screens of cinema as the Bayern Munich defender is set to feature in the new Spider-Man movie.

The Canadian star who broke into the limelight in 2019 when he joined the Bavarians, will be voicing one of the many characters of Spider-Man in the yet-to-be-released movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

According to Goal, Davies will voice the character Spider-Man 67 while, Germany international Jule Brand - who plays her club football for Wolfsburg - will lend her voice to drummer Betty.

At the 2019 Academy Awards, 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' won an Oscar for best-animated feature, and Davies will hope his version of the movie bags another Oscar award.

The German theatrical release date of 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' is set for June 1.

Man City, Real Madrid keen on Davies

Meanwhile, Real Madrid and Manchester City are set to go into a bidding war as both teams are interested in signing Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, ESPN reports.

Man City director of football Txiki Begiristain is keen to bring Davies to the Etihad Stadium, but the 22-year-old Bayern Munich defender is a key summer target for Real Madrid.

Bayern Munich however are not ready to let Davies go this summer and are already thinking of holding contract talks with the Canadian at the end of the season.

Davies opens up on struggles

Earlier, Sports Brief reported life as a professional footballer isn’t always as glamorous as it’s made out to be, especially for youngsters playing abroad.

Alphonso Davies recently spoke about the difficulties of playing in another country, especially when you don’t have a lot of friends or family around.

Arguably one of the best left-backs in football at the moment, Davies admitted that there was little to do when he wasn’t training or playing games for Bayern.
