Alejandro Garnacho is undoubtedly one of the fastest-rising youngsters in the Premier League, having burst into life under Erik ten Hag this season.

Garnacho has put in decent performances for Manchester United, especially from the bench, with his latest goal coming over the weekend in their 2-0 win over Wolves.

He has since been rewarded with a five-year contract.

However, despite his visible talent, he has been accused of, for lack of a better word, being way over his head. Ten Hag himself has talked in the past about how he needs to keep his feet on the ground to have a successful career.

Garnacho vs Pedri beef

Against Barcelona in the playoff rounds of the Europa League, the Argentine provided a contentious incident after he was seen imitating Pedri's celebration. The Blaugrana midfielder had put his hands on his eyes to make what looked like binoculars.

After the Red Devils dispatched them with a 4-3 aggregate scoreline, Garnacho made the same gesture, with Barcelona fans seeing it as a mock of their player. Garnacho's caption on Instagram afterwards of 'The Big team goes through' did not help issues either.

However, Garnacho's agent, Quique de Lucas, has now disputed those claims, saying that his client had an ongoing game with his friends on the stands.

"We both laughed a lot about this because, at that game, there were about thirty of his friends from Madrid in the stands. We were all placed in one area. So all his friends were saying. ‘You’re watching us.’ And he pretended to see us," as quoted by Football Espana.
