Meet Mercy Obiero, Kenya's strongest woman

The argument that women cannot lift heavy objects can easily be put to shame by this wonderful mighty lady.

Mercy Obiero is the current holder of the strongest woman in Kenya title after winning the title from previous champions Phiona Akinyi.

Mercy set a new record as she was able to lift the deadlift category breaking the previous record and setting her own 220 Kilograms record.

This Iron lady has previously participated in the 2012 Olympics as a weightlifter in the event that took place in London.

Mercy is a very well decorated champion as she has also participated in the 2015 all African games bagging triple bronze medals.

Mercy Akinyi is not only a weight lifter but also a personal trainer and a fitness consultant.

Mercy's little girl Chanel Obiero is following in her mother's footsteps and won the young champs event by lifting deadlift 60kg at the strongman and woman competitions.
