Goalkeeper assaults referee
Closer to home, more madness occurred during a football match.
Sports Brief reported on a shocking scene played out during an amateur football match that took place somewhere in South Africa. An unnamed goalkeeper for a team yet to be determined was seen attacking a referee during the contes.
A video showed him putting the unfortunate match official through the wringer, before all who were present stepped in to 'assist'. The infuriated goalie turned on the opposition, with his actions kicking off a separate brawl, which turned a bad situation into an even worse debacle.
It wasn't until the benches cleared and members of the stunned crowd got on the field to calm the situation down before common sense and cooled feelings prevailed. One of the spectators was even heard telling the goalkeeper to calm down and use his brain and not his heart.
