Sports Brief looks at five players who could leave the club this summer for various reasons.

Inaki Pena

Pena is one of two players who could leave because of an expiring contract. The goalkeeper’s deal expires at the current season's end, and he has yet to agree on new terms with the club.

As noted by Tribuna, Pena is considering his future at the club, mainly because he hasn’t been given much game time this season, even in cup games.

Franck Kessie

The Ivory Coast player was brought in at the end of last season on a free transfer but surprisingly, has been linked with a move away already.

Kessi was the subject of rumours stating that Inter Milan was interested in taking the player on loan. His agents have blasted the rumours as fake news and confirmed that he wants to say at the Catalan side, Football Espana reported.

Gavi

The youngster’s situation is quite a curious one. Gavi originally signed a contract with the first team until 2026, but La Liga rejected it because of Barcelona’s financial situation.

The club planned to appeal the decision but failed to do so before the deadline. As a result, Gavi’s contract was rejected and he will become a free agent at the end of the season.

Bavarian Football Works reported that Bayern Munich are monitoring the situation as they could make a move for the youngster.

Sergio Busquets

The club legend sees his contract expire at the end of the season and no decision on his future has been made yet.

Busquets has played 713 games for the side and won numerous trophies. Barca Universal reports that the club hopes to tempt him into signing a contract extension, provided he agrees to a salary reduction.

Ansu Fati

The Spanish youngster is frustrated at not getting more game time at Barcelona. With a release clause of € 1 billion, no team will be able to sign him without agreeing on a transfer deal with the Catalans.

However, according to Barca Universal, Fati’s entourage believes he is being unfairly treated at the club but insisted he wants to stay with the side.

Solutions for Barcelona's financial problems

La Blaugrana face a giant financial dilemma this summer, Sports Brief also reported.

Barcelona have struggled with FFP and expect the same before the 2023/24 season.

However, the Catalan giants have a few ways they can get back on track financially.
