Cristiano Ronaldo had a very turbulent 2022 on and off the pitch, which led to many severe implications in his life and career.

He started on the wrong foot with new Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag which led to an explosive interview with Piers Morgan where Ronaldo claimed he has no respect for the Dutch manager.

It led to the termination of his contract at the club, and a few days later, Portugal were eliminated from the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup by Morocco in the quarterfinals.

Ronaldo delighted to see Dalot

Fernando Santos was sacked after the disappointing World Cup outing. His replacement, Roberto Martinez, has called up the Al-Nassr forward to his first squad, as reported by talkSPORT.

The captain is expected to lead the team in the first international break of the year for matches against Liechtenstein and Luxembourg in the Euro 2024 qualifying series.

The callup has allowed Ronaldo to see some old faces he had not seen since he left Europe to move to the Middle East.

In a video recirculated on Twitter by ESPN, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was seen having a fun moment with his former teammate Diogo Dalot as the pair reunited for the first time since the end of the World Cup.

Martinez gives Ronaldo huge task

Sports Brief earlier reported that Roberto Martinez has made enormous demands from Ronaldo ahead of the pair's first game in the Portugal national team.

The Spanish manager met with Ronaldo after his appointment and laid it bare to him that he would be counting on his experience and skills to help him win the Euro 2024 in Germany.

The former Belgium boss was reportedly given a target of at least a semi-final outing at the tournament or having his wages reduced by a significant percentage.
