Antonio Conte is staring at an uncertain future as the Tottenham boss barely a year after he joined the north London club.

The Italian tactician recently landed himself in trouble with Tottenham after his scathing rant at the club following last weekend's 3-3 draw with basement boys Southampton.

Conte singled out his squad for blame in his post-match briefing after the result, hitting out on the players for not "playing for something important."

According to SunSport, Conte's remarks left Tottenham chiefs and even squad players stunned, with a section of players reportedly calling for his sacking.

Reports claim that Conte could be shown the door during the ongoing international break, with The Telegraph saying Daniel Levy is pondering whether or not the Italian will be able to get the best out of his players.

Who could replace Conte at Tottenham?

With Conte's future at Tottenham now hanging by a thread, Sports Brief takes a look at some managers who could replace the Italian on the hot seat.

5. Ryan Mason

Ryan Mason is currently Conte's assistant at Tottenham Hotspur.

The tactician has been touted as a possible replacement for Conte - albeit on a temporary basis until the end of the season.

Mason has built a reputation for himself at the club, having previously took charge at the helm of affairs after Jose Mourinho was shown the door.

4. Thomas Tuchel

Tuchel is among a number of experienced managers currently without a job.

The German was rendered jobless after he was sacked by Chelsea last September.

Tottenham have a history of appointing former Chelsea managers, with Mourinho being the most recent one.

3. Zinedine Zidane

Like Tuchel, Zinedine Zidane is also not attached to any team at the moment since his departure from Real Madrid.

The Frenchman was initially eyeing the France national team role but lost out after Didier Deschamps' deal was extended.

2. Marco Silva

That Marco Silva has done an incredible job at Fulham is no secret.

From steering them back to the English top flight to nearly securing them an FA Cup semi-final spot this season - Silva has been nothing short of a success at Craven Cottage.

He is believed to be among the contenders for the Tottenham role should Conte be shown the door.

1. Mauricio Pochettino

And finally, on this list is a name any Tottenham fan would easily resonate with h- Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine tactician is currently without a job after he was shown the door by Paris Saint-Germain last year.

Poch enjoyed an illustrious managerial career with Tottenham during his spell with the north Londoners, which came to an end in November 2019.

Given his success at Tottenham, including leading the club to the Champions League final in June 2019, the ex-Southampton boss would definitely be welcomed with open arms at Tottenham.
