Meanwhile, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will, on Friday, host Guinea-Bissau at the same venue, and Makanjola praised the firepower of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, adding that playing in the Super Eagles is his main target.

"He (Osimhen) is doing a fantastic job. In fact, the Super Eagles are a motivation for us to keep pushing because that is where we want to be.

16 players sent packing from camp

Sports Brief earlier reported that 16 Nigerian players have been sent home from the camp of the Under-23 national team due to age discrepancies, ahead of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Guinea.

Salisu Yusuf - the coach of the side known as the Olympic Eagles - invited 30 players to the training camp to prepare for the double-header against their fellow west Africans.

Most of these players are campaigning in the Nigerian Professional League and the country's second-tier division, the National League.
