Thomas Partey has joined the age-long debate between Ghanaians and Nigerians over which country prepares the best jollof.

Jollof, a popular West African delicacy, believed to have originated from Senegal has gained worldwide popularity because of Ghana and Nigeria.

Partey, who plays for Arsenal in England, made his preference obvious in the ongoing argument.

"I do get African foods here. I get Jollof, you know the best jollof is from Ghana, right?," he quizzed during an interview with Super Sport.

"In Ghana, we have different food so when I go back I only think about the food," he added.

Partey has been in phenomenal form for the Gunners this season, playing a pivotal role in their position at the top of the table.

The 29-year-old has scored three goals in 22 matches for the North London club in the English Premier League this season. The former Atletico Madrid star is hoping to help Arsenal end their Premier League title drought this year.

Partey has been named in the Black Stars squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola next week.

Partey opens up on chieftaincy role

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Thomas Partey has disclosed that his role as a chief in Ghana is to inspire the youth of his hometown.

The Ghana and Arsenal midfielder was enstooled developmental chief of the people of Somanya in the Eastern Region.
