Erling Haaland was firing shots both on and off the pitch on Tuesday as he came up with a cheeky comment aimed at Thierry Henry, after Manchester City progressed to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

City once again showed why they were favourites to win the competition this year as they beat Leipzig 7-0 at the Etihad Stadium to progress 8-1 on aggregate.

For a scoreline that massive, you can always expect City’s top scorer to be among the scorers - and he almost did it all on his own.

It is safe to say the Norwegian was on a double hat-trick but Pep Guardiola decided to take him off in the 64th minute to be replaced by Julian Alvarez, with some fans joking that was the only way to keep the young striker from scoring.

After the game, Haaland had the honour of being interviewed by the infamous trio of Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards, who were on punditry duty for CBS Sports.

He was asked how it felt to score five goals and could not help but aim a subtle dig at Micah and Carragher while complimenting Henry.

"It’s an amazing feeling. I think you’re [Henry] the only one that knows how to score a lot of goals..." Haaland quipped as the panel burst into laughter.

“I kind of knew I would score a lot of goals. There is so much potential in this team and we can improve a lot of things,” the striker added.

Dias mocked with gym joke

Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported on Ruben Dias being made fun of by the Manchester City duo of Haaland and Jack Grealish.

The duo has quickly established their friendship since the Norwegian joined the club from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
