Manchester United suffered their biggest Premier League loss in history at the weekend, a 7-0 defeat at the hands of their fiercest rival, Liverpool in the North-West derby.

The Red Devils have a chance to bounce back when they face Real Betis in the UEFA Europa League on March 9 and meet a familiar foe in former Manchester City boss, Manuel Pellegrini.

Betis would be United's third Spanish opposition in the Europa League this season, having played against Real Sociedad in the group stages and eliminating Barcelona in the round of 16 playoffs.

And as quoted by Football Daily, Pellegrini said he is not sad about the 7-0 defeat Man United suffered.

“Well, really, it was unbelievable. I was watching the first 45 minutes because after that, we had to play against Real Madrid, so I couldn’t see when Liverpool scored the other six goals,” he said.
“But of course, I understand immediately what will happen with Man United, so the reality between Liverpool and Manchester is that if you have this amount of goals it will not be easy for them."

Pellegrini added he was still a Man City fan and the result had not saddened him at all.

When asked about the possible implication of the result on the upcoming game, Pellegrini said he did not believe United would play with the latest result on their mind - rather focusing on progressing to the next round.

“Also, we are not going to start the game thinking that they had a defeat of 7-0 inside them. We play against a difficult team. We must be the best Betis we can do if we want to have a good result here,” he concluded.

Rashford eager to make right

Sports Brief also reported on Marcus Rashford being eager to play again and 'make it right' to Man United fans after the devastating defeat to Liverpool.

The in-form forward could do nothing to help his team despite playing 85 minutes on Sunday and has since urged fans to trust in the team's processes.

It took Rashford almost a day to break his silence after the Anfield loss, which went a long way to show how big a toll the humbling had taken on him.
