The Phobians got off to a great start and should have broken the deadlock through forward, Benjamin Yorke early in the game.

Asante Kotoko had their moments with forward, Steven Mukwala coming close before half-time.

After the break, Hearts of Oak showed more determination and were rewarded with a free kick just before the hour mark.

Congolese midfielder, Linda Mtange whipped in a brilliant cross which was met by the head of Yiadom as the Phobians opened the scoring.

Moments later, Hearts nearly made it 2-0 but Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Danlad Ibrahim was up to the challenge.

However, the Accrans kept their composure and finished the game strongly.

Oak fans want coach sacked

Sports Brief also reported on the PRO of the team's national chapters committee, Kobby Jones revealing supporters are frustrated with Hearts coach, Slavko Matic.

News of fans' displeasure follows the Phobians suffering back-to-back defeats in their home base of Accra against Aduana Stars and fierce rivals, Great Olympics.

The defeat in the derby in midweek has seen Hearts of Oak drop to sixth place in the Ghana Premier League and has sparked calls for a change in management.

Ghana Premier League champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko announced the signing of Brazilian forward, Matheus Medeiros De Souza.

The forward joins the Porcupine Warriors on a six-month deal with the option of extending his time at the club for a further year.
