A supermarket belonging to the family of Lionel Messi's wife Anotenela Roccuzzo, Antonella was hit with 14 gunshots on Thursday morning, reports claim.

The shop was attacked by gunmen who sent a chilling message for the 2022 FIFA Player of the Year.

According to Talk Sports, surveillance footage showed two men on motorcycles approaching the store before one opened fire on the metal shutters over the windows and door.

Luckily, no one was hurt as the store was closed. But the perpetrators, who left the scene on a motorbike, left a message for Messi.

"Messi, we are waiting for you. Javkin is a drug trafficker, he will not protect you," they wrote in charcoal.

As reported by a local TV station, noted by Mirror Football, the message left by the attackers could be they are trying to extort money from the Paris Saint-Germain superstar.

The reports further suggest that the supermarket, which is called Supermercado Unico, is managed by Antonela's cousins.

It is expected to remain closed on Thursday following the gun attack at around 2am.
