Carlo Ancelotti is unbothered about the future of Real Madrid star, Marco Asensio whose contract with the La Liga giants runs out at the end of the season.

According to Football Espana, Ancelotti has now revealed he doesn’t care much if Asensio renews his contract with Real Madrid or decides to leave in the summer.

“He looks good to me; I don’t know if he will stay or not. He may or may not stay; I don’t know, I don’t care much. We have a very important challenge this season."

Ancelotti added: “The important thing is that he is contributing, like last year. Let him continue like this, and the club will make the most appropriate decision.”

Asensio has managed just two goals and three assists in 15 appearances for Real Madrid this season and has always maintained he wants to remain with the reigning La Liga champions.

AC Milan to make Asensio offer

Meanwhile, AC Milan are set to make an offer for the out-of-favour Real Madrid forward at the end of the season, Fansided reports.

Asensio has fallen down the pecking order this season after being dropped to the bench many times, and could be forced to seek a move elsewhere.

AC Milan remains interested in the 27-year-old forward, but they could be drawn into a transfer battle with Premier League clubs for his signature.

Asensio scores ferocious goal

Sports Brief also reported on Asensio's long-range effort paving the way for Real Madrid to pick up all three points at stake against Valencia.

After huffing and puffing to no avail in the first half, the forward finally broke the deadlock for Ancelotti's men seven minutes after recess.

Having been handed his first start since January 22, Asensio repaid the confidence reposed in him by his manager with a stunning drive.
