Barcelona legend, Dani Alves has reportedly made his debut for a prison football team after his arrest over an alleged nightclub assault.

The Brazilian defender was arrested in Spain after being called in for questioning by Catalan police, following an official complaint from the woman involved.

Alves is being held at the Brians II prison in Spain, where he has reportedly shown his football skills to his co-prisoners.

According to Spanish Publications Diario AS, the right full-back stepped out to play his first game with other prisoners in the courtyard last Thursday.

The reports further claim that Alves' appearance in the match caught the attention of a lot of inmates, who wanted to see the Brazilian’s football qualities up close.

No word was given on the outcome of the game.

What happened to Dani Alves?

The most decorated footballer in history was provisionally detained in prison without bail, after being accused of assaulting a lady at a Barcelona nightclub in December last year.

The 39-year-old defender was then arrested by Spanish police on January 20 and has been remanded in prison after the matter was heard by a judge, as Sports Brief previously reported.

Alves will be confined to prison until the outcome of his trial is determined. Public prosecutors asked the presiding judge to have the defender held in custody without bail for the duration of their investigation.

Dani Alves’s contract terminated

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Mexican club, Pumas terminating the contract of Alves following the latest scandal involving the veteran defender.

The 39-year-old has been arrested in Spain after he was accused of assaulting a woman in a Barcelona nightclub in December last year.

Pumas chairman, Leopoldo Silva announced in a brief statement to the press on January 20 that the veteran Brazil international was no longer part of the club.
