How long did Rooney and Hernandez play together?
Hernandez’s very first stint in Europe was with Manchester United, a club he joined in 2010 from Guadalajara.
At the time, Rooney was the main man up front, but the England international needed a backup striker as he recently admitted he did not enjoy playing as an outright number 9.
Rooney and Hernandez ended up spending six years together at Old Trafford, winning the Premier League twice, 2010-11 and 2012-13, per Transfermkt.
Sir Alex Ferguson famously started the pair together in the 2011 Champions League final, where they were embarrassed 3-1 by Barcelona.
Currently, Hernandez, 34, plays for LA Galaxy, while Rooney is the head coach of fellow MLS giants DC United.
The two are currently looking ahead of the new MLS season which kicks off on February 25.
