Kolo Muani chalked the incredible feat in Frankfurt's comprehensive 3-0 victory over Schalke following the return of the German top-flight after the World Cup break.

The Frenchman set the tone for the high-flying Eagles when he provided an assist for Jesper Lindstrom to break the deadlock for the home side.

Subsequent goals from Rafael Borre and defender Buta helped Frankfurt climb into the top two of the Bundesliga standings, per Bleacher Report.

Despite not getting his name on the scoresheet, the 24-year-old former Nantes striker was the star of the show, setting a new record in the German elite division.

According to Opta Franz, no player has reached double figures for assists in as few appearances since 2004/2005. He has provided 10 assists in just 15 appearances.

It appears, Kolo Muani has managed to exorcise the ghost of missing a gilt-edge chance during the 2022 FIFA World Cup final which cost France their world title.

Mainz hit the lead after 40 minutes when German striker Jonathan Burkardt slammed in a loose ball after a save from Frankfurt's Qatar-bound 'keeper Kevin Trapp.

Frankfurt - who have won seven of their past eight - hit back after 67 minutes, when a superb flicked assist from German forward Mario Goetze found its way to Kolo Muani, who slammed the ball home.
