Joshua Akpudje: Nigerian Footballer Reveals How €50 Made His Mum Cry

Nigerian footballer Joshua Akpudje has disclosed that the best moment in his career was when he returned from Europe in 2016 and gave his mother the sum of €50.

Akpudje who is currently playing for FK Jablonec as a center back explained that his mum was shocked when she saw the foreign currency and started crying.

The former Nigerian Under 2 player revealed that it was actually the first time that his mother was setting her eyes on Euro and that made her go emotional.

He stressed that the moment his mother started crying when she got the money remains the best so far in his career.

In a video spotted on Instagram, Akpudje made it clear that his dream is to play in top League in Europe before he hangs his boots.

Who is Joshua Akpudje?

Born in Lagos, Joshua Akpudje started his football career with Femmak Football Academy straight out of high school before joining Nigerian Professional Football League side MFM ahead of the abridged season in 2019.

On 3 March 2020, Akpudje completed a transfer to Latvian club BFC Daugavpils.

He made his international debut for Nigeria U23 side in March 2019 against Libya in an Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualification game.

It is believed that Palace have been monitoring the 25-year-old for some time and are now prepared to complete the signing.

Osayi-Samuel has been impressive for Turkish outfit, Fenerbahce this season and has attracted interest from a number of clubs.

Reports have it that Palace will now do everything possible to complete the signing during the January transfer window.
