Eric Bailly paid a visit to Hyères midfielder Almike Moussa N’Diaye, who he seriously injured over the weekend.

The Ivorian defender, on loan from Manchester United, left N’Diaye unconscious when he lunged a reckless tackle into the chest of the midfielder.

Moussa N’Diaye was evacuated from the field on a stretcher and taken to an ambulance parked at the edge of the lawn before being rushed to the North Hospital of Marseille, where he was admitted to intensive care.

Bailly sees red after horror tackle

Olympique Marseille defender Eric Bailly was shown a red card for a brutal challenge in their Coupe de France game against Hyeres on Saturday afternoon.

The Ligue 1 giants went into the game against the fourth-tier side as big favourites.

But Les Phocéens were reduced to ten men after Ivory Coast centre-back Bailly was sent off after a bad tackle on Moussa N’Diaye inside the opening 15 minutes.

Drogba commends Eric Bailly

Sports Brief earlier reported that Ivorian legend Didier Drogba is delighted with Eric Bailly, who has left English Premier League club Manchester United to join French side Marseille.

The defender has moved to the Ligue 1 outfit on a season-long loan which includes a possibility of a permanent transfer at the end of the season.

Bailly started in just three Premier League matches last season, having fallen out of favour with every United manager since Jose Mourinho in 2017.
