''It's a pleasure to be here at Chelsea. It's a huge club. I've followed the club for a long time now and I admire the history of the club. It's a pleasure to be able to play here, Chelsea is a great club with great players,'' he said of his move to London.

Former Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen claimed he wrote on a piece of paper at the age of eight that he dreams of playing for Barcelona, as revealed by Tribuna.

The French defender of Congolese descent also revealed admiration for former and current Chelsea players and looks forward to playing with international teammate Wesley Fofana again.

''John Terry, Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard are some of the players which I used to watch from when I was younger. I know Wesley [Fofana] very well, he and I have played together for the national team. Thiago Silva, he is a legend and a player I look up to. Ngolo Kanté, we all know what he has brought to this club,'' he added.

The German was also seen in South Africa late last year as he is enjoying his time out of management. He is yet to comment on his future despite offers from Premier League clubs as revealed by Daily Mail.

He won three trophies at Chelsea in his first 14 months at the club - the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup, beating Brazilian club Palmieras in the final.
