Since then, a lot of water has passed under Ronaldo's bridge, also failing to glitter at the 2022 World Cup while inking an odd yet mouthwatering deal with Al-Nassr.

He said he wanted to continue his career playing at the highest level and still play for the national team.

However, Ronaldo ended up swapping Europe for the Saudi Arabia Professional League after signing a two-year deal with Al-Nassr

Despite contradicting himself, CR7 showed no regrets over leaving Europe for Asia at his unveiling held at Mrsool Park on Tuesday, January 3, per GOAL.

How did Ronaldo contradict himself?

"If it was just about money, you'd be in Saudi Arabia earning this king's ransom, but that's not what motivates you. You want to keep at the top," Piers Morgan intimated.
Ronaldo sharply responded: "Exactly."

Ronaldo reveals why he chose Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he had multiple offers from Europe but opted to make the bold move to the gulf region.

Earlier reports surrounding the future of Ronaldo suggested the Portuguese superstar lacked suitors from Europe owing to his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

However, in his press briefing prior to his unveiling as a new player of Al Nassr, Ronaldo disclosed he was actually spoilt for choice but made the odd yet brave choice to swap Europe for Asia.

Ronaldo receives raucous reception

Sports Brief earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo has been officially unveiled to Al-Nassr fans at Mrsool Park in Riyadh on Tuesday, January 3.

The former Manchester superstar was introduced as ‘the world’s greatest footballer’ in front of 25,000 raucous supporters.

As the 37-year-old made his way onto the field, the charged fans at the stadium chanted his name and lit flares, fireworks and strobe lighting to welcome their new star.
