Liverpool is not relenting in their bid to strengthen their squad as the Reds are now focused on landing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The Reds who are one of the top clubs pushing to sign the 19-year-old from the Bundesliga giants, hijacked Manchester United’s deal for Dutch midfielder Cody Gakpo.

According to the Daily Mail, Bellingham could leave Germany for a cut-price deal with it believed that his contract at Dortmund contains an unconfirmed £60million release clause.

Liverpool will hope to launch an audacious effort for Bellingham at the end of the season as they hope to lure the Englishman to the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp has identified the Dortmund star as a dream midfield addition that would help bolster his ageing squad but will have to battle other top clubs like Real Madrid and Chelsea for the midfielder.

Cody Gakpo set to join Liverpool

Meanwhile, PSV Eindhoven have announced that an agreement has been reached with Liverpool for the transfer of Netherlands international forward Cody Gakpo, Eurosport reports.

Both clubs have apparently agreed to a deal worth £37 million, and Gakpo is anticipated to fly to England for his medicals within the next few days.

Gakpo's arrival in Merseyside will assist to strengthen Liverpool's offensive options while Luis Diaz and Diego Jota are out with injuries. The deal might grow to £50 million in potential add-ons in a record sale for PSV.
