Mbappe then stepped up in the dressing room and asked his teammates to put their heads together for the second part of the game.

"It’s a World Cup final, it’s the match of a lifetime. We can’t get any worse, anyway. Let’s go back on the field; either we let them play or we do, we put a little intensity and we go into the duels and we do something else, guys," he said as quoted by GFFN.
Mbappe also told his teammates that while Les Bleus were two goals down, he was sure they could come back in the second half.
"Guys, it’s something like this only every four years," he ended.

Mbappe then followed his rousing speech with an impeccable performance in the 80th minute, to turn the game on its head. He scored from the penalty spot and 97 seconds later, scored with an acrobatic move to force the game to penalties.

Deschamps gave a speech of his own at half-time by asking his players to wake up.
"Guys, I’ll tell you without getting upset. Do you know the difference? It’s that they are playing a World Cup final and we are not playing in it."
Dejected Mbappe arrives back home
Sports Brief had earlier reported that Mbappe is definitely still hurting over France's World Cup final loss, as he cut a dejected figure as the national team arrived back home from Qatar.
Mbappe, who scored eight goals in the tournament, failed to win the Mundial for the second time in his career, after Les Bleus lost via penalties to Argentina in the final.
The entire French squad understandably appeared to be in glum spirits, after their efforts in a heroic comeback were undone in a dramatic shootout.
