  • All those connected to Argentina could hardly contain their joy as the team won the World Cup
  • Supporters in the South American nation and across the world continue to celebrate the victory
  • One of the jubilant fans took the wild celebrations a bit too far and hurt himself in the process

One Argentinian fan will remember his team's 2022 FIFA World Cup final victory in a rather painful manner.

A viral video showed the unnamed man losing his mind when La Albiceleste scored a goal during the epic 3-3 draw against France. He proceeded to take his shirt off as he started running.

Spectacularly, he attempted to dash out of the building where he was watching with other supporters.

Unfortunately, as he heads for the threshold, the unlucky fan did not notice the sliding door was closed, having assumed it was open.

Hitting the door headlong, he was thrown backwards, crashing to the floor seemingly unconscious from his troubles.

The video ended abruptly at this moment while the others rushed to his aid, with his fate remaining unknown.

Could Messi photo break record?

Lionel Messi holding the World Cup trophy in a picture on Instagram is officially the most-liked photo on the social media platform by a sportsperson.

The Argentine talisman surpassed the post a few weeks ago by the most-followed human on earth - Cristiano Ronaldo - in terms of likes.

Ronaldo’s photo of the two players playing chess together in a Louis Vuitton advert campaign shook the internet in November, but now fans seem to have found a better image to savour on social media.

World Cup: Aguero under fire

Sergio Aguero has made headlines for good and bad reasons during the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar.

Having been forced to retire from professional football due to a medical condition, the former Manchester City striker was not a part of Argentina's squad, but his presence was felt as they won the title on December 18.

However, he is in hot water for allegedly directing an offensive slur at a France midfielder, Sports Brief has reported.
