“I am French but I would love for Messi to lift the World Cup because he deserves it for everything he’s done throughout his career, we will see what happens, but he behaves like a leader and is from a national team with a lot of character,” said Gignac on Fox Sports via Sport.
He continued: “Messi is a leader today in Argentina. They want Argentina to win the World Cup for Messi, we have to say things as they are.”

Top France winger backs Argentina

France international Ousmane Dembele has saluted Lionel Messi ahead of the 2022 World Cup final claiming that the Paris Saint-Germain star made him fall in love playing for Barcelona.

Dembele joined Barcelona in 2017 from Borussia Dortmund and played alongside Messi for four seasons before the Argentine moved to PSG.

Out of his respect for Messi, Dembele claimed that the former Barcelona captain deserves to win the World Cup adding that they also want to win it again.

Supercomputer predicts World Cup winner

Sports Brief reported earlier that a supercomputer has made its prediction on who will win the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Holders Frances are scheduled to face off against Lionel Messi's Argentina in the final of the Qatar edition of the tournament on Sunday, December 18.
